The Challenge
A newly appointed Executive Director of a community organization was relatively unknown to local stakeholders and sought to raise visibility – for both herself and for the organization’s mission – in the area she serves.
Goal: Executive Director Visibility
To humanize and spotlight the new leader within the community while reinforcing the organization’s role and impact.
Tactics:
Created a targeted public relations strategy, including press materials and personalized outreach to local media outlets, with a focus on storytelling and community relevance.
Outcome:
A regional journalist published a 500-word feature on the Executive Director, which ran in both print and digital editions and was promoted through the publication’s email blasts. The article was shared widely on personal and organizational social channels, significantly increasing visibility. The organization’s Board, founders, and donors responded positively, appreciating the recognition and the strong introduction of new leadership.

The Challenge
A newly launched charity golf event required publicity to attract attendees, sponsors and corporate donors.
Goal: Event Sell-Out
Drive new registrations for a golf tournament and clinic combination event
Tactics:
Developed a comprehensive marketing strategy, creating content for social media and paid media campaigns with diverse calls to action (CTAs). These included QR codes to provide event information, links for donations and sponsorships, and sign-up forms for participants. I also researched and secured local grant funding for paid advertising efforts.
Alongside another marketing volunteer, I introduced a scholarship program aimed at encouraging community members new to golf, as well as emerging leaders in both the impact and for-profit sectors – to participate without financial burden, acknowledging the high cost of golf.
Outcome:
The inaugural year of marketing efforts resulted in a sold-out event. In subsequent years, many participants and sponsors returned. The clinic scholarships, now sponsored by generous donors, continue to allow newcomers to golf to join at no charge, providing them with the opportunity to experience the clinic and enjoy a day at a country club, all at no cost.
